Parental controls for Android phones

Fair rules for their phone. Peace of mind for you.

Kinuvo helps you set healthy screen time, app and internet boundaries on your child’s Android phone, and tells you when they arrive where they’re going. Your child can see the rules, and ask when they need more.

  • Visible to your child
  • Never reads messages
  • No browsing history

  2. From you to your child: +30 minutesYou choose how much

  3. From you to your child: Night Screen Lock, 9 PM–7 AMKept on their phone, even offline

  4. From your child to you: Arrived at SchoolOnly for places you save

Never leaves their phone: messages, what they type, their screen and their browsing.

Our approach

Guidance, not surveillance.

Many parental controls are built to watch. Kinuvo is built to guide: clear, fair boundaries on your child’s phone, and news of what matters, without reading their messages, recording their screen or keeping a history of the sites they visit.

What your child sees
  1. 01

    They can see it.

Kinuvo Kids is a visible app on your child’s phone. It shows them their limits and explains each permission in plain words before it’s switched on.

  2. 02

    They can ask.

More time, a blocked app, a new download: your child asks from their phone, and you answer from yours.

  3. 03

    Some things stay theirs.

No messages, no typing, no screen recording, no browsing history. Kinuvo records only the websites it blocked.

Kids have a voice

When they want more, they ask. You decide.

Instead of arguments at the door or workarounds behind your back, Kinuvo gives your child a simple way to ask. The request arrives on your phone, and you answer in a tap, straight from the notification.

  • “Ask for more time”When 15 minutes or less are left

    You answer:

    • +15 minutes
    • +30 minutes
    • +1 hour
    • Your own amount
    • Not now

After a no, they can ask again in 10 minutes.

  • “Request Access”From an app that’s blocked

    You answer:

    • Allow Access
    • Keep Blocked
  • “Request Approval Again”For a new app that’s waiting for you

    You answer:

    • Approve
    • Reject

Asking never unlocks anything on its own. Only your answer does.

Screen time

A daily allowance that fits real life.

Set a Daily Limit for each day of the week. Add Bonus Time for movie night in one tap. Keep reading and school apps from counting at all. And your child gets a heads-up at 15, 5 and 1 minute left, so time never runs out by surprise.

  • Always Allowed apps that don’t use up the day
  • Calls and the phone’s essentials always keep working
  • Designed so changing the phone’s clock doesn’t add time

Daily Limit

Example week
2 hours on school days, 3 at the weekend. On Friday, you added 30 minutes of Bonus Time, for that day only.

Bedtime, on autopilot.

Every child starts with a Night Screen Lock from 9 PM to 7 AM, ready to switch on. Apps rest overnight and wake up in the morning, even if the phone is offline.

9:00 PMto7:00 AM

  • App LimitA video app1 hour a day on school days
  • Block AppsA gameCan’t be opened. Your child can ask for access
  • New App ApprovalA new downloadWaits for your OK before it opens
Blocked apps stay installed. Everything else works as normal.
Apps

Limits for apps. Not battles over the phone.

Give the apps that take the most time a daily cap, block the ones that aren’t right yet, and decide what happens when something new is installed. Everything else keeps working normally.

  • You’re told when an app is uninstalled
  • Lock Device Now for dinner, conversations and moments that need phones down

Safer internet

Harmful sites stay away. Browsing stays private.

Web Protection blocks websites in the categories you choose, in every browser on your child’s phone, on Wi‑Fi and mobile data. Adult content is blocked from the start. Kinuvo keeps no browsing history: it only records the sites it stopped, so you can see what was blocked and why.

  • Block or allow any website yourself
  • Internet Schedule switches the internet off for homework or sleep. Offline apps still work, and SOS still gets through

Web Protection blocks whole websites using curated lists of known sites. It can’t filter a single video or search, and no list covers the whole internet, so you can add any site yourself.

Location and safety

Know they got there. Without watching every step.

Save the places that matter, like home, school and practice, and get a notification when your child arrives or leaves. Check their latest location, and see where they’ve been over the last 30 days, with stops and journeys on a map.

  • Latest location, with how recent it is
  • Your child can see that their location is shared
More about location

Saved Places

Example day
  1. Home

    Left 8:05 AM

  2. Northside School

    Arrived 8:24 AM

You’re notified: “Arrived at Northside School”

  3. Swim practice

    Arrived 4:10 PM

You’re notified: “Arrived at Swim practice”

Stops are matched to your places in the location history, kept for 30 days. It’s the latest reported location, not a live, moving dot.

Help, one tap away.

If something’s wrong, your child taps SOS. After a three-second countdown they can still cancel, every phone you’re signed in on gets an urgent alert, with their location when it’s available. Tap “I’m on my way” and they see that help is coming. No signal? Their SOS keeps trying until it gets through.

Kinuvo’s SOS reaches you, not emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Privacy

Specific promises, not vague ones.

You’re trusting Kinuvo with your child’s phone. So here’s exactly where the lines are.

Kinuvo never

  • reads messages, chats or emails
  • captures what your child types
  • records or screenshots the screen
  • keeps a history of the websites they visit
  • streams their location live
  • includes advertising or analytics software in its apps

What your child is told

“Kinuvo does not keep your full browsing history.”
“Your location is only shared with your approved family.”
“A parent can always turn it off with their PIN.”

Kinuvo Kids’ own words, shown before each permission.

How it works

A few minutes to set up. Then it keeps working.

  1. 1

    Get Kinuvo on your phone.

Create your account with your email.

  2. 2

Add your child with a code.

Tap Add Child and show the QR code. Your child scans it with Kinuvo Kids on their Android phone and picks their name and avatar.

  3. 3

    Choose your family’s rules.

Start with a Daily Limit or bedtime, and add more whenever you’re ready.

Rules live on your child’s phone.

The Daily Limit, blocked apps, bedtime and web protection keep working when the Wi‑Fi drops and after the phone restarts. Changes you make usually arrive within seconds, and catch up as soon as the phone reconnects.

Questions parents ask.

All questions

Does Kinuvo watch everything my child does?

No. Kinuvo Kids is a visible app that explains itself to your child. It doesn’t read messages, capture what your child types, record the screen or keep a history of the websites they visit. It records only what its features need, like app time, location for your saved places and the sites it blocked.

Can my child uninstall Kinuvo Kids?

Not without you. Removing Kinuvo Kids or changing its protection needs your Parent PIN, and you’re alerted if Accessibility or Usage Access is switched off. A full factory reset of the phone would remove it, as with any app.

What happens when the Daily Limit runs out?

Apps pause with a calm screen until tomorrow. Phone calls, Settings and the home screen keep working, and your child can tap Ask for more time. You decide.

Is location tracking live?

No. You see your child’s latest reported location with how recent it is, and where they’ve been over the last 30 days. Kinuvo records more detail while your child is travelling, but it isn’t a second-by-second tracker.

Does SOS call emergency services?

No. Kinuvo’s SOS reaches you, not emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

What phones does Kinuvo work on?

The Kinuvo app for parents runs on Android. Kinuvo Kids, for your child’s phone, needs Android 7.0 or newer. There is no Kinuvo Kids for iPhone or iPad.
